Qiqqa Features

Powerful PDF management

At its core, Qiqqa helps you get your PDF documents under control. Find and work with the documents you need in record time, and stay focussed, without hassling with file systems.

Library Syncing

Access your documents from anywhere. No need to email back from the lab, or copy to USB stick every day. Qiqqa offers you free cloud storage for your documents, and a Web Library you can access from any browser. Find out more...

Unlimited Storage

Now you can store as many documents as you like, of any size. Find out more

Import from Mendeley™ Zotero™, EndNote™ and more.

If you already use these programs, or have your library in BibTeX format, you can get your documents into Qiqqa without any additional work.

Search on steroids

Blindingly fast full text search, even across tens of thousands of documents. Even scanned documents are converted to text and become searchable.

Tag it up

Add your own tags your documents and use the Tag Explorer to easily find the documents containing the combinations of tags you're looking for. You can now also add tags to your annotations New

AutoTags

Qiqqa learns what your documents are about, revealing patterns and giving you hints on topics you should be researching.

Watch Folder

Specify a directory of your drive to "watch" for new documents, and they'll be automatically imported. Great for shared drives, or specify your browser's default download location.

Recently Read/Added

Instead of hunting for documents you're busy with, easily get to documents you've added recently, or those you were reading.

iPhone,iPad, Android, and support for other mobile devices

If you have a mobile device with a browser and PDF reader, you can access and view your Qiqqa Web Library PDF documents anywhere you have internet.

Data Export

Nobody likes lock-in. Export your entire library to a combined BibTeX file for import elsewhere. All your PDFs are included with smart links so you can easily access them by tag, author, and title, even without Qiqqa. New

Annotate and highlight your documents

Highlight and add notes to important sections and add your own notes directly to your documents as you read them. Don't worry, they don't get in the way of reading, but they are of course synced to your devices.

Annotation Report

You've added notes and highlighted all the important bits on your documents for an upcoming exam. Just filter your library by tag, and hit the Annotation Report button.

You'll get a new document with the extacts your highlighted, and your notes, all in one place for easy revision. Hit Print for a handy study pack, or export it to Word. Oh, and you can always click back to the original document for more context if needed.

Want to limit to annotations with certain tags? No problem. New

Intelligent Metadata

Even in this day and age, it's surprisingly rare for documents to contain accurate metadata - the title, authors, year and so on. Qiqqa gives you the best of all options. It uses a variety of techniques to deduce the metatada automatically, and save you the trouble of filling it in by hand. Got BibTeX? It will use that instead. You have the option to override these decisions if you like.

Google Scholar BibTeX search

Use Qiqqa's integrated Google Scholar search to easily get the BibTeX file for a document - and all the correct metadata - in seconds.

Document Intelligence

Qiqqa analyzes your document and displays a Term Cloud of the most important terms within it. Save time by telling at a glance what a new paper is all about, and if it's worth reading.

Document Attributes

Add your Reading Stage, Rating, and Comments to any document and stay organized. Your comments come up in the full text search.

Automated Jump Links

Some documents don't have a Table of Contents, making navigation that much harder. Qiqqa works out the main sections in your document, and provides a quick way to jump between them.

Convert your PDF to Text

Qiqqa uses Optical Character Recognition, so you can copy and paste even from a scanned document, or just click a button to get the whole document into Word™

Dictionary & Web Search

Found a term in your PDF you're not sure about? Answers from Dictionary.com and leading search engines are just behind a right click.

Read Page Aloud

Qiqqa can read your document out loud to you, using your computer's speakers/headphones.

Create Separate Libraries

You're not limited to one library. Completely separate your documents however suits the way you work.

Share your Library

Optionally invite others to share your Library. Using Qiqqa they'll be able to view any documents you add to that library, contribute their own documents, and add their own annotations for all to view. Ideal for small teams working together for a class or project.

Simple Administration

Nobody likes struggling with permissions and rights. In Qiqqa it's easy to understand. Libraries are private by default.

If you need to share documents with someone not using Qiqqa, no problem. You can create a bundle of PDFs that can be shared via email. Best of all, our mechanism for this means you won't clog your outbox or their inbox with massive files.

Brainstorming and Mindmapping

Whether you're planning a project, organizing exam materials, or making notes as you research, keep your ideas and thoughts from getting lost by arranging them in a mindmap. Nodes can be linked or rearranged, and you can zoom in and out for the right level of detail.

Because it's integrated directly within Qiqqa, PDFs can be dragged into your brainstorm, and later you can click back to that original document.

It also allows you to easily explore your library, mapping related documents as you go, which reveal undiscovered links between documents, authors, and topics.

Reference and cite using Microsoft© Word™

Easily export your references for use with the Word™ Bibliographic management system, and cite with ease!

Alternatively, our brand new bilbiography management tool - Qiqqa InCite™ works with Word™ directly for an integrated experience. See it in action.

Integrated Web Browser

We all have our favorite browser, but this one is honed for one specific task - research.

Easily search multiple academic search engines. Found a good PDF? Get it into your library (with original download location already set in the metadata) in one click, and no fuss.

Drag URLs or images directly from webpages into your brainstorm.

Tablet Ready

We're building Qiqqa to be ideal for your tablet or other mobile device.

We have a dedicated Android version available.

If you don't have an Android device, you can access your Web Library via any mobile browser, including on iOS devices.
